Hello every one and welcome to this (First class lamp NN-1977) in this tutorial we will learn how to model a lamp made in 1977 using NURBS splines and also will use few parts from polygons, I found the reference image from google.com while searching for it and i come up with the image you can see below, so we will model the lamp as you see,

so lets get started,
1-since i don’t had proper side reference to draw the lines i just manually draw  the reference image in Photoshop if you want to use it you are more then welcome,
2-now its time to bring the reference image into Maya, before doing this just note the dimensions for the height and width in inches inside Photoshop to make it easier while showing it in reference plane, come to Maya from preferences change your working units to Inches and hit save, once you note the dimensions create a poly plane and now put the values in the scale X and Z fields to match up reference image,
