Clay Render with Wires tutorial

“Clay Render with Wires ” by Joshua Murphy
Once you have selected Standard, you will see your Material Editor slot default back to a gray material. Don’t worry. All you have to do is change the Diffuse color to black, following the same steps as earlier and select Wire under the Shader Basic Parameters.

You notice now that the clay material that you created earlier has a wireframe around it. Apply it to your object by the drag and drop method or by clicking the Assign Material to Selection button in your Material Editor. At this point, you can also rename your material. Now all you have to do is change your Renderer to mentalray. To do this, Select Rendering from the toolbar, then Render. Or you can press the “hotkey” F10.

This will open the Render Scene: dialog box. Go under the Common tab, scroll down to the bottom and click on the box with the 3 small dots next to Production: Default Scanline Renderer. The Choose Renderer dialog box will appear. Select mentalray Renderer.

Once you have done the step above, you are complete. All you have to do now is apply the material to your object, and render.
